Ok, great. So you are going to learn to navigate your experience autonomically!

Have a look at the map at right, and let’s figure out which wedge of the largest triangle you are starting in. Autonomics maps 13 primary states with distinct autonomic temperatures (safety, danger, lifethreat), neurology, and neurochemistry. First, let’s situate you in terms of temperature. There are three primary directions that we can move here.

If you have a sense that you are in the HEALTH CREATION wedge, it would make sense to deepen your state here. In this wedge, you probably already feel pretty good. Safe enough in the body to be available. Either settled, relational, playful, or competitive.

If you are in the HOT STRESS wedge, we might want to shift that. In this wedge, you probably feel stressed out. Tight muscles, elevated heart rate, angry, or anxious.

If you are in the COLD STRESS wedge, we might want to shift that. In this wedge, you probably feel numb, cold, lethargic, stuck, depressed, dissociated, or shutdown.
