Imagine taking your dog to a new place. You know how they will walk the perimeter, sniff everywhere, and turn circles before lying down? They are checking the autonomic temperature for safety.

You know how if you go to a party with strangers, you kind of look around at everybody to get a feel for the place? Or sometimes you can feel someone looking at you and you turn around and they actually are?
