Autonomic temperature is our moment-to-moment neural detection of safety, danger, and lifethreat.
Safety in blue.
Danger in yellow.
Lifethreat in red.
Imagine taking your dog to a new place. You know how they will walk the perimeter, sniff everywhere, and turn circles before lying down? They are checking the autonomic temperature for safety.
You know how if you go to a party with strangers, you kind of look around at everybody to get a feel for the place? Or sometimes you can feel someone looking at you and you turn around and they actually are?
This is our moment-to-moment detection of autonomic temperature. It is part of the survival imperative of the Autonomic Nervous System. Based on our autonomic temperature in the present moment, our Autonomic Nervous System surfaces responsive neurology and chemistry.
